HOW WILL WHAT YOU DO NOW, HELP YOU TO GET TO WHERE YOU WANT TO BE IN 3-5 YEARS AND IN THE LONGER TERM?

As some of you might know from a comment I made in this group,I am currently applying for another remote researcher, writer, podcast maker job to add to my career.

The process made me think about how we often just function on auto-pilot day by day, going through the motions everyday and just do the job we think is safe and put food on the table and keep the wolf from the door.

People stifle your hunger for stretching yourself by chastising you when you dare to reach for that golden apple on the branch just a bit out of your reach, when you get excited by the prospect of doing a job that doesn’t fit their idea of what is suitable for you.

You yourself limit your world by following the predictable path, taking the “risk-free” option, doing what you think you are supposed to do.

But is this really the responsible option?

Do you feel “stuck” in the job you are doing?

Are you bored out of your mind and literally check-out for the day as soon as you get behind your desk and become little more than a breathing robot?

Do you often think “there has to be more than this to life!”

Do you feel like a square peg in a round hole?

Have you even forgotten why you where so excited to take this career route in the first place? Or worse- has it been someone else’s idea for you? Did you take this job not for the joy or growth opportunity or the impact you can make on the world, but because of the security, predictability or financial reward?

All these signs of dissatisfaction and feelings of hum-drumness, are indications that you should make a change. That you should stop going through the motions and wake up to what was really intended for you.

Think back to when you were a child- what excited you then?

What natural abilities and passions do you have that could make a valuable and unique contribution to the world?

What will make you so motivated to get up in the morning that you will be excited by a whole new day of work ahead? Will make you pity all the others who just live for the weekend and wish the bulk of their life away?

The title-question is a good question to check if you are in alignment with your unique purpose.

If you can honestly say that what consumes your day now will lead to exponential growth, the development of more of the identity you need to become to make your mega goals a reality and in the process also influence the lives of others positively, you are on the right track.

If you stare down the line into the future and it looks like a dead-end, glass ceiling, slow death of your authentic self or total melt down, you need to take action.

Only you can get yourself on the path that is your unique road to travel. No one else have authority or control over the one and only way that is the exact right fit for you.

Stop the blame shifting and victimhood today and make a way that will feel easy, like freedom and like play.

Of course it is going to take effort, but overcome your limiting beliefs and habits that stand in the way of your perfect career and start waking up to a life that will not only let you survive but also make you thrive.

So let me ask you again-how will what you do now help you to get where you want to be in 3-5 years and in the longer term?

If you need someone to be accountable to, to cheer you on and guide you on your “road less traveled”, a life coach is the ideal person to help you fast-track your success and keep you on track.
